BASF Confirms Plastic Additives Plans in the Mideast

BASF has confirmed CW's exclusive report that it is evaluating investment options for a wholly owned plastic additives plant in the Mideast. The company is at the same time discontinuing plans for a joint venture with Astra Polymer Compounding to produce customer specific antioxidant blends in the Mideast region. These plans were based on an agreement between Astra and Ciba Specialty Chemicals. BASF acquired Ciba last year.
