Markets :: Specialty Chemicals :: Plastic additives Albemarle to Form Bromine Derivatives JV in China8:18 AM MDT | May 16, 2008 | Kerri Walsh Albemarle says it has agreed to form a bromine derivatives joint venture in China with Weifang Sinobrom Import and Export Co. (Weifang, China). The jv will be 75% owned by Albemarle, and 25% owned by Sinobrom. The companies did not disclose how much they plan to invest in the venture, or potential sales from the agreement. The jv, Sinobrom Albemarle Bromine Chemicals Co., will combine Sinobrom’s bromine derivatives marketing knowledge in China with Albemarle's global bromine commercial and technical expertise in the specialty chemical industry.
