BASF Forms New Division to Prepare for Cognis Deal

 BASF says it will split its care chemicals business into two divisions to prepare for the pending acquisition of Cognis. The changes will take place August 1. Care chemicals will be split into the Nutrition & Health division, and the Care Chemicals division. Sales and profits of those divisions were not disclosed. Both divisions will be part of BASF's performance products segment. The Cognis deal is expected to close in November 2010.
