BASF Announces New SAP Capacity

BASF has announced capacity for two new superabsorbent polymers (SAP) plants, one in Brazil and the other in China. Both plants will have a capacity of 60,000 m.t./year. The Brazil plant is part of a previously announced $721-million acrylic acid and SAP complex at Camacari, with an acrylic acid capacity of 160,000 m.t./year.
