Protex Acquires U.S. Paper Chemicals Firm

Synthron (Levallois, France) says its parent, Protex International (Paris), has acquired paper chemicals company Northern Specialty Chemicals (Woonsocket, RI) for an undisclosed sum. The paper chemicals market represents 11% of Protex operations, and the acquisition of Northern Specialty Chemicals will add anti-slip agents, fireproofing and waterproofing products, wax retainers, and wax emulsions to its portfolio.
