Clariant says it has begun production of hexasulphonated optical brightening agents (OBAs) at its Prat, Spain facility. The site produces dyes, pigment preparations, and chemicals for the European and global paper market, the company says. Clariant announced in 2010 that it planned to cease production of textile and paper chemicals production at its Muttenz, Switzerland facility in 2011-2013, transferring textile chemicals to Asia and paper chemicals to Prat.
