BASF deepens restructuring of performance products with 500 job cuts

BASF today announced plans to restructure its performance products segment, including 500 job cuts worldwide by end-2015. The businesses affected are mainly former Ciba Specialty Chemicals operations, acquired by BASF in 2009. BASF says it aims to adapt the businesses to the changed market environment and significantly increase competitiveness by streamlining processes, investing in new technologies, and adjusting its portfolio and organizational setup.   Performance products' portfolio includes ingredients for personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals...
