AkzoNobel Boosts European Expandable Microspheres Capacity

AkzoNobel says it will invest €30 million ($43 million) to increase capacity of its expandable microspheres at Stockvik, Sweden to meet rising global demand. The new capacity is due to come on stream in early 2012, Akzo says. Expandable microspheres are used as a blowing agent or lightweight filler in thermoplastics, printing inks, coatings and paper and board.
