The new capacity is due to come on stream in early 2012, Akzo says. Expandable microspheres are used as a blowing agent or lightweight filler in thermoplastics, printing inks, coatings and paper and board. Part of the €30-million investment will be used to further improve eco-efficiency at the facility and to implement several additional upgrades, Akzo says. "This is a significant investment...
