Markets :: Specialty Chemicals :: Paper chemicals Akzo Nobel Enters Chlorine Dioxide Deal9:12 AM MDT | September 21, 2007 | Natasha Alperowicz and Kerri Walsh Akzo Nobel’s Eka pulp and paper chemical business has agreed to supply chlorine dioxide production and take over the operation and maintenance of a bleaching chemicals plant at Gävle, Sweden for Stora Enso (Helsinki), a pulp and papermaker. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The amount of chlorine dioxide supplied will depend on how much pulp is manufactured at Stora Enso’s 540,000 m.t./year pulp mill, Eka says.
