PPG Agrees to Buy BASF’s Coil and Extrusion Coatings Unit

PPG Industries says it has reached an agreement to acquire BASF’s North American coil and extrusion coatings business. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal includes inventory, customer lists, as well as patents and trade names associated with the acquired products. BASF’s coatings business has plants at Decatur, AL and Monterrey, Mexico, as well as a production line at Belvidere, NJ. BASF will continue to supply products from Decatur, Belvidere, and Monterrey under a manufacturing supply agreement for 11-12 months, after which BASF will close...
