Elementis's profit drops 14% despite stable sales

Elementis (London) generated $107.1 million in net profit during 2012, a drop of almost 14% on 2011, the company reported today. The company's operating profit nevertheless grew 5% between 2011 and 2012, from $137.1 million to $143.9 million. Sales figures were also relatively stable, nudging down only slightly, from $760.5 million in 2011 to $757 million last year; sales figures in the specialty products and chromium segments increased by about 2% and 4%, respectively.
