Markets :: Specialty Chemicals :: Paints and Coatings Degussa to Invest Nearly $3 Billion in Coatings through 20091:25 PM MDT | August 9, 2007 | Kate Phillips Degussa says it will invest a total of €2.2 billion ($2.98 billion) in property, plant, and equipment for its coatings business during 2007-09. More than $700 million of that will be used to strengthen Degussa’s three integrated facilities that produce raw materials for novel coatings, including methacrylate, isophorone, and silicones, Degussa says. “Degussa is seeking to consolidate further its already strong position in the attractive growth market of coatings,” says Manfred Spindler, Degussa management board member.
