PPG Posts 12% Earnings Gain; Sherwin-Williams' Profits Fall 15%

The company reported second-quarter net income from continuing operations up 12%, to $269 million ($1.62/share), excluding charges. Sales jumped 42%, to $4.5 billion. PPG says its purchase of coatings maker SigmaKalon helped boost results....
