Suppliers Bite Into Trend to Reduce Trans Fats

Several food ingredient firms are tapping into the trend to remove or reduce trans fatty acids (trans fats) in foods, which appears to be spreading beyond U.S. borders, analysts say. “Up until a couple of years ago, reduced trans fat products were mainly a U.S.-focused trend,” however the trend is “spreading quickly to the rest of the world,” says Lee Linthicum, analyst at market research firm Euromonitor International (London).
