McNeil and Sugar Group Settle Splenda Suit

Johnson & Johnson’s McNeil Nutritionals (Fort Washington, PA) and trade group The Sugar Association (Washington) have jointly announced that they have settled their lawsuit over marketing of McNeil’s Splenda brand artificial sweetener. The suit, which was pending in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, was set to go to trial in January 2009. “Details of the settlement agreement are confidential and the parties have agreed to make no additional comments on the terms of the settlement,” the joint statement says...
