DSM Enters U.S. Food Enzymes Market Via Acquisition

DSM says it has acquired Valley Research (South Bend, IN), a privately held enzyme supplier to the dietary supplement, dairy, juice, and wine industries, for an undisclosed sum. DSM Valley Research will be integrated into DSM Food Specialties and will operate as a separate entity within that unit, DSM says. DSM Food Specialties currently has a sales office in the U.S., but the deal gives the company its first food enzyme manufacturing facility in the U.S., DSM says.
