CP Kelco expanding CMC capacity in Finland

Hydrocolloids maker CP Kelco (Atlanta) is expanding purified carboxymethyl-cellulose (CMC) capacity at its plant in Aanekoski, Finland, by as much as 25% through mid-2014, the company says. Total capacity at the plant has not been disclosed. CP Kelco’s facility at Aanekoski is the world’s largest CMC manufacturing plant, the company says.   CMC is widely used as a thickener and stabilizer in foods, beverages, and nutritional products.
