(IFF) and Evolva Holding (Reinach, Switzerland) announced that they have entered into the preproduction phase for biobased production of the flavoring ingredient vanillin. The two companies are working to confirm scalability and yield targets through a yeast-based fermentation route. This announcement follows a June 2012 agreement in which Evolva confirmed the achievement of the first milestone in this collaboration.
