Eastman debottlenecks Kingsport butyric acid plant

Eastman Chemical says it will launch a debottlenecking of its Kingsport, TN butyric acid plant. Completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2013 and the project will add 11 million lbs/year of capacity to the plant, Eastman says.   Butyric acid is a naturally occurring short-chain fatty acid found in the human body, butter, and numerous other sources.
