Firmenich Acquires Danisco’s Flavors

Firmenich (Geneva) says it has agreed to acquire Danisco’s flavors business for DK3.4 billion ($623 million). The deal is expected to close at the end of June. “With revenue in flavors of about DK1.5 billion in 2006-07, corresponding to only 2%-3% of the world market, Danisco’s market position in the ingredients area is limited compared with the largest players,” Danisco says.
