Bids in for leading global gelatin maker Vion Ingredients

The first round of bids was submitted last week for Vion Ingredients, which is being sold by the Dutch meat processor Vion Food Group (Eindhoven, Netherlands). Vion Ingredients, the global market leader in gelatin, also produces fats, animal proteins, blood products, tallow and biofuels. The company, which employs about 6,000 people, is a major competitor of Tessenderlo (Brussels) in gelatin. The bids, estimated to be about €1 billion ($1.33 billion), have attracted interest from private equity firms, including PAI Partners and CVC.   Vion Ingredients...
