Researchers at U.S. DOE’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL; Richland, WA) and visiting researchers from Wuhan University (Wuchang, China) together have developed a technology for making low-cost, sodium ion-based batteries. The technology has potential applications for large-scale energy storage such as storing energy from the electric grid.
