Semiconductor Rebound

Global semiconductor sales increased 5.3%, to $18.2 billion in July, reflecting improving demand in the consumer sector, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA; San Jose, CA). Sales are still 18% lower than the same year-ago period, however, SIA says. Analysts do not expect a major recovery any time soon but forecast a gradual improvement quarter by quarter as fabs replenish inventories and seasonal consumer demand...
