SGL to Build Graphite Plant in Germany

Carbon materials manufacturer SGL Group (Wiesbaden, Germany) says in September it will start building an isostatic graphite production plant at Bonn, Germany. The plant is set to be completed by the end of 2012. The facility will contribute toward a tripling of the company’s global isostatic graphite capacity to 15,000 m.t./year.   Isostatic graphite is essential, for the production of ultra-pure polysilicon and silicon monocrystals for the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries.
