Report: China planning major rationalization of its polysilicon industry

The Chinese government is planning to instigate a restructuring of the country's polysilicon industry, to combat overcapacity and inefficiency in the sector, according to a Reuters report. China has about 40 producers of polysilicon, many of which were established by local authorities during the last decade to supply the country's booming solar panels industry, the Reuters report says.
