Operations at MEMC’s Plant in Japan Suspended Following Earthquake

MEMC Electronic Materials (St. Peters, MO) says operations at its plant at Utsunomiya, Japan remain suspended following the earthquake. MEMC employees at the Utsunomiya facility were safely evacuated after the earthquake and no injuries were reported. MEMC has a network of 12 manufacturing facilities around the world. The Utsunomiya facility is one of eight that manufacture semiconductor wafers.
