Momentive increases capacity for tantalum carbide coatings

Momentive Performance Materials (MPM) announced today that it is raising capacity for its tantalum carbide (TaC) coatings due to rising demand from electronics applications, including silicon carbide power devices and certain kinds of light-emitting diode (LED) displays. The new capacity will allow MPM to produce TaC coatings parts sized up to 750mm, a 250mm increase from the old capacity. TaC coatings are used as a protective coating for silicon carbide power devices and LED displays, MPM says. They are produced by MPM's quartz...
