Mitsubishi Chemical to Produce OLEDs, Partner with Pioneer

Mitsubishi Chemical (Tokyo) says it plans to enter into the manufacture of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). The company says it plans to begin mass production of OLED appliances in 2011. It is targeting sales for its fledgling OLED lighting business of ¥30 billion ($335 million) in 2015, rising to ¥100 billion in 2020.   Mitsubishi says it has agreed a partnership deal with Pioneer Corp. (Kawasaki-shi; Japan) in which the companies will undertake joint R&D to create printable OLED lighting equipment and jointly commercialize the products...
