Markets :: Specialty Chemicals :: Electronic chemicals China Releases New Batch of Rare Earth Export Quotas3:15 PM MDT | August 22, 2012 | Vincent Valk China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC; Beijing) has released the latest batch of rare earths export quotas, according to state reports. The quotas total 9,770 m.t., with 8,537 m.t. of that light rare earths (LREs) and 1,233 m.t. of it heavy rare earths (HREs). The new quotas bring the export quota for all of 2012 to 30,996 m.t. of the 17 rare earth metals, 2.7% higher than 2011’s total and the highest since 2009.
