UOP lifts Honeywell's first-quarter profits

Honeywell’s performance materials and technologies (PMT) unit reports segment profit of $319 million for the company’s fiscal first quarter, ended 31 March, a 17% increase over the year-ago quarter, on sales up 6.3%, to $1.7 billion. PMT includes Honeywell’s UOP process technology business; fluorine products; specialty products, which includes performance additives and medical packaging films; resins and chemicals; and Honeywell Electronic Materials.
