Johnson Matthey's Catalysts and Fine Chemical Results Improve

Johnson Matthey today reported improved sales and profits results for its fiscal third quarter ended December 31. Johnson Matthey announced in an interim management statement that group sales excluding precious metals rose 22% compared to the year-ago period. Operating profit jumped 31% on improved operating leverage and higher precious metal selling prices. The company does not report quarterly sales and profit figures.  The environmental technologies division’s operating profit increased 14%, on sales up 21%. Profits declined slightly sequentially...
