Grace advances Mideast catalyst project

W.R. Grace says it has advanced its previously announced plans to build a fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts manufacturing plant unit near Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.   Grace says it has executed a joint venture agreement Al Dahra Agriculture to build the $200-million FCC catalysts plant, which will be the first in the Mideast region and serve refiners throughout the Mideast and, potentially, South Asia.  Construction is set to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with start-up slated for the fourth quarter 2015.
