Sony to Sell Chemical Business for $730 Million

Sony Corp. (Tokyo) has entered into definitive agreements for the previously announced sale of its chemical businesses to the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ; Tokyo) for about ¥58 billion ($730 million). Sony’s chemical businesses is involved in the manufacture and sale of chemical products including adhesive materials such as anisotropic conductive film, optical materials such as optical elasticity resin, and magnetic devices.
