BASF Links with Italian Firm in TMP Business

BASF says it will mothball its 20,000 m.t./year trimethylopropane (TMP) manufacturing plant at Ludwigshafen, its only TMP manufacturing facility, but it will stay in the business following a deal with Fabbrica Adesivi Resine (FAR; Cologno Monzese, Italy), which is due to take effect next month. Under the agreement, FAR will take over production of TMP for both partners at its 12,000 m.t./year Vercelli site, near Milan. BASF will be the exclusive marketer of TMP.
