Ashland Completes Purchase of Air Products' Adhesives Business

Ashland says it has completed its acquisition of the pressure-sensitive adhesive business and the atmospheric emulsions business from Air Products for $92 million. The transaction includes Air Products’ manufacturing plants at Elkton, MD, and Piedmont, SC, as well as acrylic and polyvinyl acetate technologies. The acquired units generated 2007 sales of $126 million, and will be merged into Ashland’s Specialty Polymers & Adhesives business. The 80 Air Products employees will transfer to Ashland. The deal is a “highly desirable addition”...
