BASF raising global hexanediol capacity by 20%

BASF is investing €30 million ($39 million) to raise its global 1,6-hexanediol (HDO) capacity by 20%, to over 50,000 m.t./year, by 2014. BASF makes HDO at Freeport, TX; and Ludwigshafen. BASF is planning to optimize production processes and build out new infrastructure as part of the expansion.
