Perstorp Finalizes Isocyanates Business Acquisition

Perstorp says it has completed talks to buy the isocyanates business jointly owned by Rhodia and LyondellBasell. Perstorp entered into exclusive negotiations with Rhodia Organics and Lyondell Chimie TDI SCA, a LyondellBasell subsidiary, in March. The deal includes Rhodia's aliphatic isocyanates unit, which produces a range of intermediates for industrial paints and coatings and Lyondell's toluene diisocyanate business, which produces intermediates for polyurethane foams, operated under contract by Rhodia.
