Markets :: Plastics :: Toluene diisocyanate Bayer Ponders New-Process TDI Plant in Europe1:58 PM MDT | July 25, 2007 | Natasha Alperowicz in Dormagen Bayer MaterialScience (BMS) unveiled its “revolutionary” gas-phase phosgenation technology to produce toluene diisocyanate (TDI), at a presentation in Dormagen, Germany last week. BMS will employ the technology in a previously announced 300,000-m.t./year TDI plant, due onstream at the end of 2010 at the company’s integrated polyurethanes (PU) and polycarbonate (PC) complex at Caojing, China, near Shanghai.
