Markets :: Plastics :: Synthetic rubber Sibur and Sinopec Plan Nitrile Rubber Joint Ventures in China and Russia2:39 AM MDT | October 11, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Sibur (Moscow) says it has entered into a memorandum of extended cooperation with Sinopec on the possible formation of two joint ventures for the production of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) at Krasnoyarsk, Russia, and Shanghai, China. If the joint ventures are formed, the capacity of the existing NBR assets of Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubbers Plant, a subsidiary of Sibur, at Krasnoyarsk will be expanded from 36,500 m.t./year, to 56,000 m.t./year, and the Shanghai facility will have a production capacity of about 50,000 m.t./year.
