MOL, JSR form S-SBR venture in Hungary

MOL (Budapest) has reached an agreement with JSR Corp. (Tokyo) to establish a joint venture that will manufacture solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (S-SBR) at Tiszaújváros, Hungary from 2017.  The jv will be owned 51% by JSR and 49% by MOL. The new plant’s capacity will be 60,000 m.t./year. TVK (Tiszaújváros), a subsidiary of MOL, announced recently that it had begun construction of a 130,000-m.t./year butadiene recovery unit at the same site.
