Markets :: Plastics :: Synthetic rubber Dow Starts Up German S-SBR Plant12:59 PM MDT | March 10, 2009 | Lindsey Bewley Dow Europe says it has started up its 60,000 m.t./year solution styrene butadiene rubber (S-SBR) plant at Schkopau, Germany. The S-SBR produced at the plant will be used to manufacture high-performance tires. “Our new products enable our tire producing partners to implement significant advantages in areas like rolling resistance, fuel efficiencies and carbon dioxide emissions, and grip performance,” says Ralf Irmert, global business director/synthetic rubber at Dow.
