Asahi Kasei opens SSBR plant in Singapore

Asahi Kasei Chemicals (AKC), an Asahi Kasei subsidiary, says that it held an opening ceremony on 11 July 2013 for the company’s previously announced new 50,000-m.t./year solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR) plant in Jurong Island, Singapore. AKC began construction of the plant in June 2011, and commercial operations at the plant began in April 2013, the company says.
