Markets :: Plastics :: Synthetic rubber Asahi Kasei Breaks Ground on SSBR Plant in Singapore12:18 AM MDT | June 23, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Asahi Kasei Chemicals (AKC), an Asahi Kasei subsidiary, says it has broken ground on a previously announced plant to produce solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR) at Jurong Island, Singapore. The company had announced plans to build the plant in October 2010. The first phase of construction of the plant will be completed in May 2013 and the plant will produce 50,000 m.t./year of SSBR. When the planned second phase of construction at the plant is completed in early 2015, the production capacity of the plant will increase to a total of 100,000...
