Markets :: Plastics :: Polyvinyl chloride Solvay Completes Expansion of Vinyls Complex in Brazil1:44 AM MDT | June 4, 2009 | Deepti Ramesh Solvay says its Solvay Indupa (Buenos Aires) subsidiary has completed the previously announced $150-million expansion of its plant at Santo André, Brazil, by starting up a new membrane chlor-alkali unit (MCA) associated with the expansion of the downstream vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) manufacturing facility. The Santo Andre plant now has a total VCM and PVC production capacity of 300,000 m.t./year.
