Sibur and Solvay Delay PVC Plan by Two Years

Completion of a previously announced polyvinyl chloride (PVC) project at Kstovo, Russia by RusVinyl—a joint venture between Sibur-Neftekim and SolVin—will be delayed by two years, to 2012, Sibur-Neftekhim says. Sibur-Neftekhim, a Sibur subsidiary, announced the delay earlier this month when it signed a contract with Technip covering detailed engineering and procurement of equipment for the expansion of an associated ethylene plant (CW, Oct. 20, 2008, p. 19).
