Samsung Green Initiative Seeks to Eliminate PVC Use by 2011

Samsung Electronics, as part of a $4.2-billion eco-management initiative, is seeking to curb or eliminate the use of several chemical compounds, including polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the company says. The company is also seeking to curb usage of perflourinated compounds (PFCs) and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6), and phase out usage of brominated flame retardants (BFRs).
