PVC November Contracts Settle Late

The last of the November polyvinyl chloride (PVC) contracts settled at an increase of 4 cts/lb, market sources say. Several of the contracts remained unsettled into the third week of January, as buyers continued to hold out for a 3 cts/lb increase. Buyers cited weak demand for PVC products due to poor housing market conditions, while producers defended the increase based on rising ethylene prices.
