PVC Makers Seek Price Increases Through Summer

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) makers are standing firm amid buyer protests over the latest round of price increases. Georgia Gulf nominated a 2 cts/lb increase for July PVC contracts two weeks ago. With that, buyers were faced with a full 10 cts/lb increase in resin prices over the past five months. If all the increases go through, there will be roughly a 20% increase in less than half a year.
