Europe's July ethylene contract price rises, sets tone for PVC hikes

A €50/m.t. ($68) increase in Europe's feedstock ethylene July contract price has set the tone for a targeted polyvinyl chloride (PVC) contract price increase, according to IHS Chemical's latest Market Advisory Service: Europe Vinyl Weekly. Northwestern Europe's July ethylene contract price was settled at €1,220/m.t. del. As a result of this hike, Vinnolit (Ismaning, Germany), an integrated PVC producer, announced at the end of June that it would raise prices across its entire PVC range by €50/m.t., effective 1 July.
