Markets :: Plastics :: Polyvinyl chloride EPA Proposes Tighter Toxic Emission Rules for PVC Plants1:24 PM MDT | April 27, 2011 | Kara Sissell EPA has proposed tighter regulations for air toxics emissions from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plants, a court-ordered proposal resulting from a lawsuit brought by the Sierra Club which successfully challenged EPA’s 2002 rule for PVC plants. Comments on EPA’s recent proposal are due by mid June and the final rule is mandated for release January 13, 2012. Facilities will have to comply within three years of the rule’s finalization.
